Halong Bay Fireworks: When and Where to see
Planning to watch the Halong Bay fireworks? This guide covers when the shows take place and the best places to see them.
When
In 2026, you can enjoy the Ha Long Bay fireworks on weekdays and twice a day on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
The fireworks are scheduled at 10:00 PM from Monday to Friday, with additional shows on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 8:45 PM and 10:00 PM.
Each fireworks show lasts approximately 15 minutes. However, the schedule may change due to weather conditions or special events. To get a good viewing spot, we recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before the fireworks begin.
Where
The fireworks are launched from the area around Halong International Cruise Port in Bai Chay. While this is the main viewing location, you can enjoy the show from several spots around the bay.
Bai Chay Beach
If you want a free and easily accessible viewing spot, head to Bai Chay Beach. This wide beachfront offers clear views of the fireworks, and you'll be surrounded by a lively atmosphere as locals and travelers gather to watch the show. There are also plenty of beach bars and cafés nearby, including Beach Valley, Sunset Bay Coffee, and other seaside venues where you can enjoy a drink while watching the fireworks.
Dinner Cruise
Many dinner cruises in Halong Bay offer excellent views of the fireworks. Some cruises also put on their own fireworks displays, although these are typically smaller and shorter than the main show at Ha Long International Cruise Port.
Some populars cruises are Luna Cruise, Symphony Cruise, or Lavoya Boutique Cruise. Expect to pay around 1,200,000 VND to 1,800,000 VND per person, usually including dinner too.
Sun Hill
For views from above, head to Sun Hill (Đồi Mặt Trời), located above Sun World Halong in Bai Chay. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of Halong International Cruise Port, the fireworks launch area, and the illuminated coastline.
You can reach Sun Hill by taxi or electric buggy from most Bai Chay hotels in 5 - 10 minutes. If the Sun Wheel complex is operating, admission typically costs around VND 350,000 - 400,000 per adult, and the observation areas near the hill provide excellent photo opportunities.
Arrive at least 30 minutes before 21:30 to secure a good viewing spot, especially on weekends and public holidays.
