The hostel is in a great location, right beside Halong Bay Museum. It’s quite easy to get to all the attractions in the bay, such Tuan Chau Marina, Bai Tho Mountain, and Sunworld park. Plus, BBQ also hooks you up with free bike rentals if you don’t feel like walking.

If you’re seeking for a decent place to stay while keeping your costs to a least, The Light Halong Hostel is the way to go.
The hostel has 40 rooms, with the cheapest (bunk bed) starting at only $8 USD per night (with breakfast included). However, cheap does not mean awful; all of the hostel’s rooms are fully equipped with full amenities, ensuring you have a comfortable place for relaxing after an exhausting day of travelling.

If you’re a solo traveler wishing to make new friends from all over the world, Fancy Halong Bay hostel is the place to be.
You’ll be greeted with a party vibe decorations right on the first step into the hostel, from national flags hanging around the lobby to a billard pool or public giant TV screen for weekend movie. On top of Fancy hostel is an open bar, where all guests could gather for a party every night.
Fancy Halong Hostel offers a variety of room types. The hostel has 15 private rooms and 7 dorm rooms, all of which have basic amenities. Prices will range between 300,00vnd and 500,00vnd per night, including breakfast.
However, keep in mind that the bunk bed of Fancy Hostel won’t have curtain, so it might not be too comfortable when it come to privacy.
Why we loved it
What we liked best about Fancy Hostel Halong was food. Their in-house restaurant is the most well-known in all of Halong Bay, offering a wide range of cuisines from traditional Vietnamese to Western. We recommend you should try their homemade burger. It’s produced with their own unique recipe, includes tasty patties stuffed with onions, a trio of cheese, and herbs. It has never failed to satisfy BBQ lovers!
4. Halong Lily Homestay

Unlike the other hostels on our list, Lily Homestay provides a more authentic experience. It’s hosted by Lily, a friendly lady with excellent service minded. Don’t worry about communication as she can also speak good English!
Lily Homestay is a villa-type with a view to the bay. As a result, it will be slightly more expensive than others in this list. But it will be well worth the extra. There are just two types of rooms at Lily Homestay, and for just 700,000vnd (30USD), you can get a private room with a direct view of stunning Halong Bay.
However, keep in mind that it will not have a party atmosphere, but rather an authentic vibe.

Lily Homestay’s location is its strong suit. It’s only a 30-meter walk from there to Halong’s beach.
Further, Lily offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for a restful stay rather than a night of partying.
