Ban Chan Beach is an uninhabited beach located in the extension part of Halong Bay – Bai Tu Long Bay. It takes approximately 2.5 hours by boat from Hon Gai Marina, Halong City.
The name Ban Chan (meaning “Foot” in English) comes from local beliefs that the beach is so unspoiled that there are rarely any human footprints at all. The beach is a part of an deserted island, surrounded by massive limestones and several islets. This special location giving the impression that Ban Chan is attempting to hide from the busy flock of tourists. From above, Ban Chan Beach look like a colorful painting, with varied colors ranging from the green of flora and sauna to the azure of emerald sea in front of it.

There is no wifi or internet on the beach, a very definition of “untouched.”
Getting there
The only way to get to Ban Chan beach is by private boat or canoe. You can hire one from Hon Gai Marina in Halong City. A private boat roundtrip with tickets should cost around 45 – 50 USD/ 6 hours.
Time to visit
The best months to visit Ban Chan Beach in terms of scenery should be October and November. The weather is slightly chilly (~26°C) during that time period, but the surrounding at its most beautiful with clear sky and very little rain.
If you’re a fan of water playing, then May to July are the months for you. The weather is pretty hot by then (average more than 30°C), perfect time to dive in the crystal clear water of the beach.
No matter which months you plan to visit Ban Chan Beach, make sure to get there in the day time. Since it’s take 2.5 hours to get there, the boat won’t wait for you but come back to the Hon Gai before the night comes.
